Kristina Mileska is a filmmaker and coloUrist based in Toronto.

Kristina’s work is light on dialogue with a greater emphasis on visual storytelling. She weaves whimsy and levity into stories that focus on themes of grief, memory, disillusionment and loss of innocence. Her short film The Bear and the Beekeeper (2019) has been licensed by Canadian broadcaster SuperChannel and has received numerous accolades, including the Oscar-qualifying award for Best Short Film at the Edmonton International Film Festival. Her short film Afloat (2018) premiered at TIFF Kids. Kristina holds a BFA in Film Production from York University, where her thesis film Asteroid (2015) won the National Screen Institute’s Fearless Filmmaker Award and was broadcast internationally on Air Canada flights. She is an alumn of Women in the Director’s Chair (2024), Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab (2022), and Vancouver International Film Festival Catalyst Program (2019). Kristina has just completed her latest short film, Blood or Water, and is currently developing her debut feature film, Summer 2002.

As a colourist, Kristina has worked on narrative, commercial, and documentary projects, collaborating closely with directors and cinematographers to ensure the final product aligns with their vision. Her approach is informed by her background as a filmmaker, enabling her to seamlessly bridge technical precision with creative intent.
